Since 1772
As a consequence of a strong, long-term record in sherry winemaking, the family has preserved a unique collection of rare soleras. Furthermore, Osborne has acquired other wines throughout the years, steadily consolidating an unparalleled collection of very old and rare wines.
SEVEN GENERATIONS
Founded in 1772, Osborne is one the most prestigious producers of wines and spirits in Spain. The family-owned business was ignited by Thomas Osborne Mann, an Englishman who set sail from Devon over two centuries ago, driven by an increasing demand in Great Britain for wines from Jerez. Ever since he established the first wineries that would carry his name, Osborne has remained in family hands. The family business is currently on its seventh generation, continuing the legacy.
EL PUERTO DE SANTA MARÍA
High ceilings that allow the hot air to move upwards while maintaining cooler air down, where the butts are located. A significant amount of windows allow for good ventilation, crucial for biological ageing. Albero floors are sprinkled with water in order to maintain humidity and temperature, critical conditions for the “flor” yeast. Wide walls that allow a thermic isolation. Minimal sun hours and maximum humidity. This is our winery located in El Marco de Jerez.
AN UNPARALLELED COLLECTION
The Osborne family takes great pride in these wines, not only because they have passionately cared for them for decades, but also because every drop encloses their own heritage and tradition. Only 9 of these wines are released in very limited quantities some with less than 800 bottles/year. These are two families in one single collection: the V.O.R.S wines, 4 classic wines coming from the worldclass Pago Macharnudo; and the RARE sherries, 5 Top-Notch wines, of very limited availability, coming from the foundational soleras.
THE WINES
AMONTILLADO 51 1ª (1830) - VORS
AMONTILLADO
Solera founded in 1830; Its name refers to the total number of butts that make up the solera and the fact that the wine is extracted from the 1st criadera. There are a total of 52 butts with 5 ageing levels: the solera plus 4 criaderas. The grapes come from Pago Macharnudo, a worldclass pago located in Jerez de la Frontera that offers wines with that vertical character in the mouth, that stand out for its power and high minerality.
CAPUCHINO (1790) - VORS
PALO CORTADO

SIBARITA (1792) - VORS
OLOROSO
Since its establishment in 1792, this exquisite wine has become a tribute to those who indulge in the pleasure of looking forward through the window of the past. The oloroso of the Osborne VORS collection is made up of 106 butts that keep a structured, complex, unique wine.
VENERABLE (1902) - VORS
PEDRO XIMENEZ - SWEET NATURAL WINE
The year 1902 marked the foundation of this solera, which has created a wine worthy of veneration not only for its great age, but also for its luscious complexity.
SOLERA AOS (1903) - RARE
AMONTILLADO
The wine’s name relates to the first two initials of Antonio Osborne and the ‘S’ refers to ‘Solera’. This small amontillado solera coming from foundational soleras was established in 1903 by D. Tomás Osborne Guezala, II Count of Osborne, to commemorate the birth of his son Antonio. He ordered the solera to be locked as it would never be bottled until 1924, when his son Antonio would become of age.
SOLERA BC 200 (1864) - RARE
OLOROSO MEDIUM
his is one of the oldest soleras at Bodegas Osborne. founded from foundational soleras, it was founded in 1864 and was initially named ABC, since the solera was divided into three sub-soleras. For reasons unknown, around 1888, a whole solera was sent to the Imperial Court in St. Petersburg (Solera A), since the Russian tsars where the only clients of this wine. Since then, only the soleras B and C remain at the winery, giving name to the wine. 200 references the number of butts that originally composed this solera.
SOLERA INDIA (1922) - RARE
OLOROSO MEDIUM
This is a very unusual wine that has led to internal confusion, since the name had always been associated to the wines that were shipped to India. With time, it was certified that the name came from the export business to South America (the Indies), mainly to Colombia and Peru, aimed for the Spanish diplomatic mission in those countries. Those days, the wine was defined as a very “English-style” wine.
SOLERA PAP (1911) - RARE
PALO CORTADO - MEDIUM
The wine’s name is a reference to the triangle formed by the cities of Jerez, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa María. The first ‘P’ refers to Palo Cortado, as for its original style, and the second refers to el Puerto de Santa María. This solera was founded in 1911 by chance, since some of the butts that were originally intended for export to England were content-on-left behind at the winery and with time resulted in exquisite wines, with the first being bottled in 1921.
SOLERA PEDRO XIMENEZ VIEJO (1905) - RARE
SWEET NATURAL WINE
This old PX comes from a foundational solera and was established in 1905 situated at La Palma Bodega. Contrary to the rest of the collection, this solera curiously consist of a single butt, along with 3 criaderas of9-7-7 butts respectively. A thick crust covers its surface and the winemaking team has noticed the inside has developed a caramel coating, certainly one of the secrets behind its exquisite character.
